The YIKONG YK4061, the brand’s first-ever 1/6 scale crawler, has officially hit the scene. In this review, I’ll share my first impressions and key features of this large-scale machine.

I didn’t measure the body with precision, but you can get a general idea of the size based on my height. The bare chassis (without battery) weighs around 5.5 kg, which is quite light considering the scale. Clearly, YIKONG YK4061 continues Yikong’s lightweight design approach.

The car uses solid front and rear axles, a metal chassis frame, metal links, and metal drive shafts — robust yet not exactly a traditional tubular frame design.
Suspension-wise, it features four large adjustable oil-filled shocks, adding to its visual presence and off-road capability.
Electronics include a sensor-based brushless system with torque compensation (OEM by Hobbywing), a 60KG high-torque steering servo, and two additional servos — one for gear shifting, the other for OD (Overdrive) switching.
🌀 What’s OD? The overdrive system increases front wheel speed by 18% compared to the rear, helping reduce wheel lift and improving stability on steep inclines.

The YIKONG YK4061 also supports 4S LiPo batteries out of the box, and the battery tray is front-mounted for better balance and a lower center of gravity.

Final Thoughts
All things considered, the YIKONG YK4061 is built for serious performance. It skips over more “scale” features like differentials and locks, instead focusing on a lightweight build, low-CG layout, and a factory-equipped OD system.

For those who enjoy technical crawling and rugged terrain, this might be one of Yikong’s most capable platforms yet.
